A 12-member delegation of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) will attend a two-day conference in Germany, organised by the Embassy of Pakistan in Germany on the platform of Pakistan-German Business Forum. The conference is aimed at match-making between Pakistani businessmen and prospective German investors in future. Dr Cyril Nunn, Pakistan's Ambassador to Germany, will be the co-host of the conference. It may be noted that the German Parliament has already approved the bill relating to German investment in Pakistan.
Chairman APTMA Punjab S M Tanveer said APTMA has already been working with GIZ, a German organisation, since 2008, and has set up a Sustainability Production Centre recently. This Centre has taken a number of initiatives including Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Project, water management project, social standard compliance, environmental protection, and corporate social responsibility besides training workshops and, in near future, for industrial technical staff from time to time.
He further added that recent conference for match-making between Pakistani and German businessmen will go long in future and it will expedite growth of economy in Pakistan. He said the APTMA delegation will participate panel discussions on a number of topics including political, legal and administrative framework, investment climate in Pakistan, energising Pakistan, Pakistani products, markets and investment opportunities, market access for Pakistani products to the EU (GSP+) textiles, agriculture sector, fisheries, certification, energy and infrastructure, mechanical engineering, pharmaceutical and chemicals, financial solutions, logistics and supply chain and trade fairs. Chairman APTMA Punjab expressed the hope that this investment will open up new opportunities and vistas of German investment in Pakistan.
