President Lasbela Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ismail Suttar, has rejected the recently increase in power tariff and demanded Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to take notice of the increase and withdraw it without delay. In a statement, he termed the increase in electricity prices as an anti-trade and anti-industry decision. He said the country was facing acute shortage of electricity and gas, and industries are getting neither electricity nor gas in required quantity which was the basic raw material of the industry to keep them operative.
He expressed the fear that export orders might be cancelled due to increasing cost of manufacturing as export orders were booked normally six months in advance and the imports might not agreed to pay additional cost incurring due to exorbitant upward revision of power tariff.-PR
