Al-Khidmat Welfare Society General Secretary Engineer Abdul Aziz on Monday presented the society's annual audit report for the year 2012-13. President Al-Khidmat Welfare Society and Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, Naib Ameer JI Karachi Nasrullah Khan Shajih and Secretary Information JI Karachi Zahid Askari were also present on the occasion.
According to the audit report, total Rs 562,849,667 have been spent on deprived and less privileged people. Giving details about the welfare works carried out by Al-Khidmat Welfare Society, Aziz said that the Al-Khidmat Foundation had borne the expenses of education and food of 300 orphan children, besides four hospitals had been established in Nazimabad, Korangi, Shah Faisal and Orangi Town, where free medical facilities had been provided to around one million patients during the year 2012-13.
"Five medical centres have also been set-up in different areas including Sakhi Hasan, North Karachi, Nazimabad, Malir City and Gulberg Town," he added. Aziz further said that the Al-Khidmat had set up a blood bank and had also provided life saving medicines to the less privileged people at a discounted rate of 10 to 15 percent.-PR
