The delay in arrival of post-Hajj flights of private airlines irked pilgrims, particularly hundreds of relatives, who keep waiting inordinately for several hours at the Bacha Khan International Airport Peshawar. According to airport sources said that the Jeddah-Peshawar bonded Hajj-flight, was delayed, causing inconvenience for both pilgrims and their relatives, who had stayed all the night outside the building of airport or Qayyum Sports Complex, which was converted into makeshift Haji-camp.
A private airline flight SV-794 with 130 pilgrims arrived around 12:30pm on Saturday afternoon, while another flight of Shaheen International Airline NL-722 bonded Jeddah-Peshawar with 370 pilgrims arrived late over night with 370 pilgrims at the Peshawar airport.
The Hajj-flights of private airlines were reaching four hour late against their due scheduled timing at the Peshawar airport, told pilgrims to this scribe.
The pilgrims also complained that due to impropriate arrangement and negligence of airport staff, the luggage along with a large number of water cans "Ab-e-Zamzam" were missing from the airport. "No arrangements were made to save transportation luggage and other belonging of pilgrims from airport to Haji camp, according to pilgrims.
Traffic wardens also failed to manage heavy flow around the Bacha Khan International Airport, causing worst kind of traffic jam there. Owing to security reason, the relatives of pilgrims were not allowed to enter the airport, and stayed them at Qayyum Stadium, where they were anxiously waiting for arrival of pilgrims, and irked due to delaying in the flights scheduled.
Meanwhile, a maiden post-Hajj flight of Pakistan International Airline also arrived on Sunday morning, carrying PK-3602 with 327 pilgrims arrived at due time around 8:10 pm at the Bacha Khan Airport Peshawar.
