Jamaat-i-Islami condemns additional tax on power consumers

Ameer, Jamaat-i-Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hassan has strongly condemned the six percent additional tax on the electricity consumers. He said that only recently, the government had raised the power tariff by Rs 6 per unit, which practically came to Rs 8 after addition of GST and other taxes. The JI Ameer said that the prime minister had said that this tariff raise was inevitable. He said the PM should inform the nation that the hike in power tariff was being made to fulfil the IMF loan terms.
