Balochistan quake: Over 0.165 million food packets distributed among victims: NDMA
As many as 1,65,207 food packets and 50 ton high energy biscuits cartons have so far been distributed among the quake hit people of Balochistan, says latest data released by National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
According to the data, 5,268 food packets are enroute to quake hit areas and would be distributed soon. Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMAs), Army, Navy and civil society organisations (CSOs) are engaged in relief operation. According to the data 47,140 tents, 27,985 blankets, 19,590 plastic mats, 23,200 mosquito nets, 41,690 mineral water bottles and 2008 miscellaneous items including jerry cans, water tanks, water filtration plants and generators have so far been distributed among the quake hit people of Balochistan and Sindh.
Meanwhile, the Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) have so far donated 3,500 tents, 20,548 ration packs, 15,530 mineral water bottles, 553 water tanks, 20 water filters, 85 pot sheets, 50 ton high energy biscuit cartons, 40 plastic sheets, 2,012 mosquito nets, 5,000 blankets, 65 biscuit cartons, 30 mineral water cartons, 150 quilts, 10 water plastic sheet cartons, 50 CGI sheets, 1,000 jerry cans, 450 water coolers and 15 tons milk.
A total of 15,899 patients have been treated in Awaran and 1709 in UC Dandar. A team of 28 doctors, 53 paramedics equipped with 34 ambulances is providing treatment to the quake hit people of Awaran. So far essential life saving drugs worth Rs 4,500,000, a Trauma Kit and eight tons medicines have been provided to the needy people.
In Mashkai, 18 doctors, 10 paramedics and 3 ambulances are engaged in providing medical treatment facilities to the deserving people. In Dandar, six doctors, eight paramedics and four ambulances are providing quality medical services to the quake hit people. As many as 15,899 patients hailing from Awaran, 1,709 from UC Dandar have been provided free medical treatment. Moreover, 20 marooned people have been evacuated by helicopter and 90 by road.
According to latest figures, 386 people have died and 816 injured in Balochistan as a result of earthquake. According to the breakup, a total of 72 people have died and 176 injured in Awaran. 136 people died and 125 sustained injuries in Mashkai, 36 died and 208 injured in Mangoli, 142 died and 307 injured in Malar/Dandar as a result of recent earthquake. Moreover, 32,638 houses have been damaged completely and 14118 partially in recent earthquake.
