Today, we are celebrating the 66th foundation day Government and the state of Azad Jammu and Kashmir with conventional zeal and fervor, reiterating our pledge to keep on our struggle until achieving our goals, for which the revolutionary government had come into being in1947.
Dear Brothers! In accordance with the subcontinent partition plan, all the sub-continent princely states were given the tight to annex with Pakistan or India on the basis of will of their majority of population. If the Muslims were in themselves with majority they could affiliate majority of population was Pakistan and if the Hindu, then they had the right to affiliate with Jammu and Kashmir was a Muslim India. The majority state and according to this formula they were supposed to affiliate and annex with Pakistan. However, the Dogra Maharaja announced the affiliation of the state with India; the people of the Kashmir stood against this and started defiant movement against the state authorities. With the help of Pakistani tribal Mujahideen, Kashmiri people were able to free a large part of the Kashmir and established an independent government.
Dear brothers! In 1947, the Kashmir Mujahideen fought with the fully armed Indian Forces with full mujahideen determination, and patriotism. The gained success at every step and large part of the state was liberated from the control of the enemy. Indian forces could not sustain in front of the mujahideen and they appealed and sought help of the United Nations. They promised before the United Nations that they will conduct the referendum, so that the people would be able to decide their destiny and affiliation, however, the India was not intending to give freedom and opportunity to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. After being desperate and thwarted, the Kashmir people, having no other option, decided to start the armed struggle. Until this day, more than 100000 Kashmiri people have been martyred. They have offered the historical sacrifices for their right to self determination and have made it clear that they will never cease their struggle until achieving the fundamental and acknowledged right.
Dear brothers! On this occasion of 66th Foundation Day of the Government and the State of Azad Jammu and Kashmir! I pay homage to all freedom fighters, who have offered their lives, fighting in the way to liberate Kashmir; I offer my heartiest tribute to legendary heroes who laid the foundation for our future and generations to come. I assure all of them and you that the government and state of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir is and will always be with them in their struggle of freedom. Our struggle will continue until we get the right of self determination and make affiliation with Pakistan. May Allah almighty be with us all the way to success! Ameen.
