NEW YORK: The yield on 10-year US Treasury bonds rose to 3.0 percent Tuesday, hitting a key psychological threshold for investors anxious over the prospect of higher interest rates.
The yield breached the 3.0 percent level at 1345 GMT for the first time since January 2014. Investors fear that higher yields are a signal the US Federal Reserve will need to lift interest rates more quickly than currently expected.
