Despite presence of over 60 police check posts and hundreds of unplanned police pickets in various parts of the national capital, the city police have failed to bust car lifters' gangs who are active in the city for the last many months, as auto-thieves have stolen 10 vehicles including motorcycle from different parts of the federal capital during last week.
Over 700 police personnel including commandos deployed at 60 security pickets in the city have failed to overcome car lifting and other street crimes as 10 vehicles were stolen in a brought-day light and seven houses were robbed during last week. According to data gathered by Business Recorder, Kohsar Police Station registered three cases of auto-theft and two cases of robberies during the last week. Shoiab Naveed informed Kohsar Police Station that unknown people have stolen laptop and other documents from his car parked at Blue Area. Another Jahangir Nawaz got registered a complaint with Kohsar Police Station that unknown people have stolen a purse from his car parked at Sector F-7/1.
On the other hand, car lifters stolen a motorcycle bearing registration number ER-590 of Shafiq Massiah from Sector F-7/4 parked in front of his house, stolen another car (BA-941) of Rana Muhammad Amin parked at F-7 Markaz and also lifted a car (LXB-5571) from Sector F-7 Markaz located in the limits of Kohsar Police Station.
During the last week, Industrial Area Police Station registered two cases each of car lifting and robbery. Unknown bandits broke into the house of Baht Nasir Khan at Sector I-9/4 and took away jewellery, cash and other valuables. Two armed men snatched Rs 200,000 from a shop of Muhammad Kashfi at Sector I-8 Markaz. Unknown carjackers snatched a car (TH-930) from Rukhsan Kosar Shaikh at sector H-8 and stolen a bike bearing registration number RIM-4342 of Hafiz Muhammad Mudassar from Sector I-8 located in the limits of Industrial Area Police Station.
Margalla Police Station registered three cases of car theft during the last week. Auto-theft stolen a car (IDM-3303) of Shehazad Iqbal from Sector G-9, stolen another bike MM-233 of Rafiq Ahmad from Sector G-9 and lifted a car (AH-688) of Sohail Ayub from G-9 Markaz. During the last week, Sihala Police Station registered one case each of car lifting and a robbery. Dr Nayer Firdoos informed Sihala Police Station that unknown robbers stolen cash, laptop and camera from his house. Auto-thieves lifted a car (JF-632) of Muhamamd Ashraf from Model Town located in the limits of Sihala Police Station. During the last week, Rmana, Bara Kahu and Koral Police Station registered one case each of robbery. Abpara and Loh Beer Police Station registered one case each of carjacking.
