Lyari gang war continued on third consecutive day that left 10 persons dead and over a dozen injured. The law enforcement agencies also claimed to have killed an alleged gangster and arrested several others along with weapons. According to police and rescue sources, gang war between Baba Ladla group and the members of outlawed Peoples Amn Committee (PAC) started last Thursday, intensified on third consecutive day, left 10 persons killed.
Police said that they were unable to identify gangsters among deceased persons as identities and affiliations of deceased persons could not be ascertained. Sources however, confirmed the identities of four deceased persons as Fahim Baloch, Yousuf Masih, Younus Masih and Mohammad Ali. These persons were killed in firing incidents at Eidu Lane and Slaughter House areas. They said these victims had affiliations with Baba Ladla group.
Meanwhile, four bullet-riddled bodies were found from Bihar Colony, Lea Market and Aath Chowk areas. Police said the victims were kidnapped and then murdered after being subjected to torture. Another man namely Mohsin Akram was shot dead at Al-Falah road in the limits of Kalri police station. Following the ongoing gang war, Lyari wore a deserted look where all commercial and social activities were suspended.
An alleged gangster namely Yousuf Shah from Baba Ladla group was killed during targeted operation at Lyari while four more alleged gangsters associated with Wasiullah Lakho group were apprehended. Official sources claimed to have recovered huge cache of arms and ammo from them. All detained suspects have been shifted to unknown location for further interrogation.
