Awami National Party (ANP) has outrightly rejected the allegations levelled against the party's top leadership by its former member Senator Azam Khan Hoti and said that allegations were unfounded and fabricated. "Since the party had expelled Azam Khan Hoti, therefore he is using such weak tactics blaming party's top leadership to misguide the people and he doesn't have any solid evidence and proof yet," said ANP Provincial Spokesman Malik Ghulam Mustafa, while talking to this scribe here on Monday.
"Azam will not be succeeded in his mission through which he is trying to create rift among the party rank and workers," said Ghulam Mustafa. He said all conspiracies would be foiled with the support of workers, particularly Azam Hoti's son Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, who was also opposing his father's allegations against the party's leadership.
ANP Spokesman said: "Pakhtuns are united under the dynamic leadership of ANP Chief Asfandyar Wali Khan, and they will not allow anyone to create any rift among the workers." Ghulam Mustafa said the campaign, which was being launched by Azam Khan Hoti against the party's leadership, would not be succeeded. He said allegations levelling against the leaderships were completely based on mala-fida intentions and untruthful, as Azam Hoti was lacking any solid evidences of those accusations. "If the allegations against the ANP leadership were accurate, then the son of Azam Khan Hoti was shouldering his father in propaganda campaign," he added.
Talking about the secret deal between ANP leadership and US, alleged by Azam Hoti, he said it was very pertinent to that the source and way of reaching secret pact should be disclosed instead of alleging by making hollow statements about US 35 million dollars secrete deal.
Earlier this month, the party's organising committee had terminated the membership of the senior leader for violation of party discipline. The committee expelled the leader for levelling "baseless" allegations and using foul language against senior leadership. He has previously held Asfandyar responsible for the party's massive defeat in general elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. He has also previously said in a statement that it is necessary to separate Asfandyar from the party's leadership and keep him away from the party's affairs to save it from collapse.
Meanwhile, the ANP rejected Hoti's claims as "baseless accusations" levelled against the party. ANP's Zahid Khan said Hoti had effectively rejected his own claims by saying he had no documentary evidence to support his statements. Speaking outside the Parliament House in Islamabad, Khan said conspiracies and failed attempts to topple the ANP leadership was not a new phenomenon and Hoti's allegations were a continuation of the same phenomenon. Khan questioned why Hoti had not raised the allegations while he was enjoying the perks of being a minister during the previous ANP government in KP.
