Jamaat-i-Islami Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has repeatedly asked the federal government to immediate initiate talks with Taliban. "The dialogue process with Taliban should be started as per recommendations of All Parties Conference. The government needs to take nation and all political parties into confidence regarding the negotiations with Taliban," said JI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ameer, Professor Mohammad Ibrahim Khan while addressing a public gathering here on Monday. JI Town-II Ameer, Fazalullah Daudzai and a large number of workers were attended the mass rally.
Professor Ibrahim termed the recent visit of Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif to US, failure, as he returned without taking up issue of Dr Aafia Siddiqui, and drone strikes with US president Obama. Dr Shakeel Afridi was a traitor and national culprit, and his release would not be acceptable at any cost, he warned.
He further said, "Dr Aafia Siddiqui is innocent, and the champion of rule of law and justice. United State is not fulfilling the pre-requisite and parameters for giving justice to the Dr Aafia Siddiqui." JI KP Ameer said that Dr Shakeel Afridi would not be released in exchange for Dr Aafia Siddiqui, because Dr Shakeel was a national traitor
He also denounced the US drone strikes in tribal areas, saying that the action was a completely barbaric and unjustifiable. He said that PM Nawaz Sharif had failed to end the US predators' attacks.
He asked the federal government to take serious stance about the drone issue, and it would put pressure on the US administration for its immediate end. He further demanded of the government to immediate initiate peace talks with Taliban, as per recommendations of the All Parties Conference, and the nation would be taken into confidence about any development and progress in this regard.
