Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Health, Shaukat Yousafzai lauded the role of welfare organisations for providing free medical treatments and facilities to people.
Talking to reporters during a visit to free medical camp for members and families of journalists, organised jointly by Journalists Welfare, Safety and Development Foundation (JWSDF) and Bacha Khan Patients Welfare Society (BKPWS) at Peshawar Press Club on Thursday, the KP minister especially appreciated the establishment of JWSDF, through which journalists' issues would be resolved amicably and assured the government would also support the JWSDF.
Appreciating the initiative of both welfare organisations, he said the government would also take such welfare steps for general masses. On the occasion, MPA Sardar Hussain Babak, BKPWS Chairman Dr Shaukat Ameer Zada and JWSDF Chairman Ali Hazrat Bacha also present.
During the daylong free medical camp, more than 300 patients, including children, aged women, were examined by specialists of eyes, throat, nose, ears, heart, along with orthopaedics, gynaecologist.
Besides, the examining of patients, free medicines also provided along with free medical test of different diseases.
BKPWS Chairman Dr Shaukat Ameerzada while speaking on the occasion said that the doctors' community is playing role for better health services to people at both public and private sector hospitals.
The JWSDF Chairman Ali Hazrat Bacha extended special gratitude to specialised physicians and Bacha Khan Welfare Society for co-operation and support in organising this free medical camp.
