Sindh government under the public-private-partnership has already completed the Hyderabad-Mirpurkhas dual carriageway, while talks are in progress with the investors for construction of Karachi-Thatta dual carriageway, which would be initiated soon, Sindh Minister for Works and Services Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani informed Sindh Assembly here on Thursday.
He was answering to a question of Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) MPA Nusrat Seher Abbasi during the question hour. He said that a private company completed Hyderabad-Mirpurkhas dual carriageway and it had the right to recover toll tax for 30 years. He said the government was contemplating to erect two more toll plazas on this road and introduce three different toll tax slabs to facilitate the citizens of Tando Jam and other small towns situated between Hyderabad and Karachi.
To another question he said that Sindh Works and Services department completed 462 schemes from 2008-13 in Larkana, Karachi and Shaheed Benazirabad, while 95 schemes proposed by the MPAs were also completed in these districts during the same period.
