Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) on Sunday successfully defused a mortar shell recovered from the parking site of a Sunday Bazaar in the limits of Gulshan-e-Iqbal police station. According to police, area people informed them that a mortar shell weighing 20 kilogram, which was dumped at the parking site of a Sunday Bazaar in Gulshan-e-Iqbal block-7.
Responding to the information, police rushed to the site along with a BDS team and defused the shell. Police said the shell was in very fragile condition, adding that it might have been purchased by scrap dealer who later dumped it at the site after he came to know that it contained explosive material.
