Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) has released its fourth cotton arrival figures, from November 1, on November 3. The Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) monthly report shows that around 76,06,263 cotton bales were sourced to ginners by November 1 which shows an increase of 11.02 percent than last year when ginneries received 68,51,056 bales. PCGA chairman Mukhtar Ahmed Khan Baloch briefed journalists on Sunday about seed-cotton (phutti) arrivals, sales and unsold stock of cotton.
He said that 56, 91,883 cotton bales were sold to the textile units and exporters bought 1, 91,657 bales. thus, overall 58, 83,540 bales were traded so far. He said that PCGA was expecting bumper crop up to 13.9 million bales. Baloch said that 1,086 out of 1,200 ginning factories are operational in Sindh and Punjab.
Baloch said Punjab contributed 45,78,634 bales which is 6.40 percent more than last year when Punjab contributed 43,03,099 bales Sindh, he said, contributed 30,27,629 bales which is 18.83 percent more than last year when it contributed 25,47,957 bales and Balochistan 47,655 bales.
After the total trading of 58, 83,540 bales, there are 17, 22,723 bales available with ginners as unsold stock. He said that cotton trading remained firm amid strong physical price and higher cottonseed prices.
District wise cotton arrival in Punjab: Multan 2,18,159 bales 43.35 percent more than last year, Lodhran 1,33,704 bales 15.77 percent increase, Khanewal 5,49,016 showing a decrease of 4.62percent, Muzaffargarh 1,97,056 bales 44.78 percent rise, Dera Ghazi Khan 2,02,068 bales an increase of 57.10percent, Rajanpur 2,17,364 bales showing an increase of 14.03percent .Layyah 1,33,050 bales 125.59 percent,Vehari 5,02,176 bales 13.01 percent fall, Sahiwal 3,33,232 bales short by 14.33 percent, Pakpattan 1,21,777 showing 27.39 pc less,Okara 31,200 showing a fall by of 20.81pc, Kasur 17,900, Toba Tek Singh, 1,50,928 bales ,Faisalabad 47,450 ,Jhang 92,077 , Mianwali 1,14,200 6,885 bales, Bhakkar 89,500 showing an increase of 35.71percent , Sargodha 20,900,RahimyarKhan ,4,55,053, Bahawalpur 4,48,124 and Bahawalnagar 5,03,700 bales.
Ginneries received 34, 03,893 bales during the Month of October 1 to November 1. Unsold stock is 17, 22,723 bales which is higher than that of last year.
