Closure of Nato supplies: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet authorises Khattak to take decision
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that his government will adopt a constitutional course over the issue of Nato supplies in the province. He said this while presiding over a special meeting of the provincial cabinet here on Monday. The cabinet authorised the chief minister to take a decision about Nato supplies through the province after consulting the opposition.
The chief minister said that a resolution would be tabled in the assembly in consultation with opposition parties. The cabinet discussed the situation in the wake of TTP chief Hakimullah Mehsud's killing in a US drone attack. The cabinet decided that KP government, in its resolution, would give the federal government a deadline to block Nato supplies. During a debate over drone attacks and Nato supplies in the cabinet meeting, the chief minister said that people would come out to press for blocking Nato supply lines through the province.
