Sindh Government on Tuesday has divided the metropolitan city into six districts with an addition of Korangi district, according to a notification issued by Sindh Board of Revenue (BoR). The official notification issued by BoR, stated that Korangi has been made a new district of Karachi. The city previously consisted of five districts including South, West, East, Central, and Malir and now Korangi district has been created.
Prior to the notification, the Korangi area was the part of the East district. The notification said that Shah Faisal Colony, Model Colony, Korangi and Landhi areas would fall in the limits of Korangi district.
