Member election tribunal former Justice Kazim Ali Malik on Thursday tendered his resignation in protest after the counsel for a PTI candidate Hamid Khan, raised serious allegations against him during court's proceedings. Hamid Khan had filed election petition against Khawaja Saad Rafique, was returned successful from NA 125, Lahore.
As the proceedings started, Latif Hanjra and Mian Hussain advocates expressed their lack of confidence in the judge. They alleged that he is a supporter of Mian Shahbaz Sharif and Khawaja Saad Rafique. The judge, however, said he always fulfilled his duties with dignity and fairly. He said, they were deliberately politicising this case and their attitude is unbearable. He, therefore, announced that he was resigning and went to his retiring room. The petitioner accused Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique of committing rigging in the elections.
