'Government wants to escape LB elections'

Secretary General Jamaat-i-Islami Liaqat Baloch has said that the government wanted to escape the local bodies' (LB) elections on the pretext of printing of ballot papers problems. In a statement on Thursday, he said the day-to-day developments in regard to the local government polls indicated that the rulers were bent upon denying the masses their right to elect the local governments.
This was evident from the federal government argument that the ballot papers could not be printed within the time limit fixed by the Supreme Court, he added.
