The tribunal headed by Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui conducted hearing on the objections against proposed delimitations in connection with Local Bodies' elections in the metropolis here on Friday. The tribunal partly heard 765 complaints, filed by various political parties including Pakistan People's Party (PPP), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamaat-i-Islami (JI).
The complaints include 380 from District East, 385 from District West, a handout said. The hearing was attended by the representatives of political and religious parties. The Commissioner as head of the tribunal expressed satisfaction over proceedings and said the whole process is being conducted in cordial atmosphere. He said the complainants were given full chance to express their viewpoint and several objections have been resolved amicably in the public interest.
