Pasban leader Altaf Shakoor has demanded of the civil and military leadership to be united against deadly drone attacks on Pakistani soil. Addressing a big protest demo in front of Karachi Press Club (KPC) on Friday, he said continuation of drone attacks in Pakistan gives wrong signals to Pakistanis about the political will of their rulers to uphold the national sovereignty.
He said this is dire time that our political leadership should bridge their difference and raise a united strong voice against the drone attacks. He said innocent civilians including women and children are murdered in drone attacks which is violation of the international law and all norms of civilisation. He said the civil and military leadership needs to take bold decisions to prove their country is an independent nation.
Altaf Shakoor said the nation had pinned high hopes with the government of PML-N that it would take right decisions to get the violation of national airspace stopped for good, but sadly the drone attacks are yet to be stopped despite the recent visit of Nawaz Sharif to the USA and discussion of this issue with the US leadership. He said the divided political leadership in Pakistan is the main hurdle in sending a strong voice to international community including the United Nations to stop civilian deaths in these attacks.-PR
