The Supreme Court on Wednesday maintained the decision of Election Tribunal (ET) for the ineligibility of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentarian Yousuf Ayub Khan. A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and comprising Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja and Justice Amir Hani Muslim heard the fake degree case of Yousuf Ayub.
Yousuf Ayub was elected as Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) KPK on PTI ticket from PK-50, Haripur II. However, his opponent challenged his graduation degree before the ET. The ET and High Court had already rejected the degree of PTI's parliamentarian upon which Yousuf Ayub filed a plea in the Supreme Court against his ineligibility. However, on Wednesday the three-judge bench rejected his plea and maintained the decision of his ineligibility by the ET and disposed of his petition.
