The Sindh government has extended the ban on pillion riding for two more days till Sunday, said a statement issued by the provincial government. The ban was imposed by the Sindh Home Department as part of security arrangements for the 9th and 10th Muharram. However it decided to intact the ban for two more days over security concerns.
A high-level meeting of the top security officials was held in Karachi after conclusion of Muharram 10 processions on Friday to ponder over security arrangements and ban on pillion riding. The meeting expressed satisfaction over the performance of security men and decided to continue ban on pillion riding for two more days till end of the Soyem. The Chief Secretary of Sindh issued notification, after the meeting, of two-day extension of pillion riding ban in the province.
