Power shortfall has reduced to 1,100MW during last 24-hour with substantial reduction in domestic consumption due to winter season across the country. Resultantly, frequency of power outages has reduced considerably and the industry is now vying for uninterrupted power supply.
Especially, the Punjab-based textile industry is strongly demanding for uninterrupted power supply to the mills during winter when gas supply to the Captive Power Plants will be down on the SNGPL network. According to the NTDC sources, power generation stood at 9,900MW against a demand of 11,000MW, leaving the system with a total shortfall of 1,100MW in total. Meanwhile, power generation through hydel, thermal and IPPs was recorded at 4,250MW, 1,570MW and 4,080MW, respectively.
