Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Engineer Shaukatullah, has said that establishment of FATA Medical College in Khar, Bajaur Agency at a tentative cost of Rs 3500 million will be launched shortly. Notification of a fully-devoted project director for the institution is now a matter of days and with its completion, a long standing demand of the people of FATA will be materialised.
Addressing tribal elders during his day long visit to the Agency Headquarter, Khar, on Sunday, the Governor further said that to make it a fully-functional and one of the best institutions of the country, sufficient infrastructural facilities with required standard will be made available.
The Governor accompanied by MNA Shahabuddin Khan, Senator Hidayatullah Khan, Additional Chief Secretary, FATA, Arbab Muhammad Arif, Commissioner, Malakand Division, Muhammad Afsar Khan and Political Agent, Syed Abdul Jabbar Shah earlier inspected the newly-established and well-furnished campus of the College of Technology and also reviewed pace of progress on the ongoing projects.
The Governor appreciated the good gestures of the tribal elders for their presence in large number and reminded them to be conscious to their responsibilities in ensuring better future for their coming generation by making best use of the facilities being made available by the government. During his visit to the newly-established Campus of the College of Technology at Khar, the Governor described it a great gift on part of Pak Army.
This institution, he added, will indeed play a useful and highly productive role in socio-economic uplift of the respective people.
Since, he said, electrical, mechanical and mining sectors have been given lead in promotion of technical know how in the institution, therefore, the graduates will prove a precious asset both for the nation and the respective areas as well. Besides serving within the country, he added, they are also expected to get respectable job opportunities abroad as well.
