The Anti-narcotics Forces (ANF) has seized a huge quantity of 1003 kg of opium in Pashin, whereas Karachi operation 'Umeed-e-Nau' is continuing on accelerated pace. According to details, ANF carried out intelligence led operation at Killi Sur Dab, Tehsil Bostan, District Pashin and recovered 1003-kg Opium hidden in folds of undulating ground, closer to a Kacha track.
Drugs were packed in apple cartons and were destined for Karachi. Initially, ANF placed a discrete trap to apprehend the drug smugglers; however it could not materialize due to difficulty in concealment of raiding party at less populated area for extended period. ANF Karachi conducted an operation at Sohrab Goth and recovered 4.15-kg Charas. As per details, intelligence was received that drugs are being exchanged and placed in a garbage polythene bag beside an electric pole in front of Koh-e-Noor Shopping Mall, Al-Asif Square, Sohrab Goth. ANF Surveillance Team reached the spot and kept the drugs under observation. However, since no one approached the drugs, so it was taken into custody.
ANF Karachi is continuously conducting sanitization/clean-up operations at renowned addiction sites on daily basis. A total of 22 addiction sites have been sanitised and continuously been kept under watch. Major addiction gatherings have been successfully addressed / discouraged. Maintaining these areas as 'Addiction Free' at overstretched locations in Karachi, requires co-operation of local police, notables of area and property ownership.-PR
