President Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) Dr Shimail Daud Arain has said that district administration is solely responsible for the tragic incident of Raja Bazaar, in which 10 persons were killed and two cloth markets - Makkah Market and Madina Market - were set on fire costing billion of rupees loss.
He said as it was administration fault, the government must provide compensation to the affected traders and Rawalpindi Chamber would raise the issue at high level. RCCI delegation would soon meet Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in that regard, he added. He termed the incident inhuman and said that no Muslim could be involved in such kind of brutal act. He was of the view that it was a terror activity conducted by the non-state actors to destroy the national unity among the different sects.
He demanded of the government to bring the culprits behind the bar and take strict action against them. He vowed that RCCI would not leave the business community in the prevailing crisis and would take every possible step to provide justice to the affected traders. He was exchanging these views with the Ulema and leaders of Anjuman-e-Tajran Markazi during his visit to the Raja Bazaar here on Monday. Sheikh Siddique, Malik Shahid Ghafoor Paracha, Sharjeel Mir, Arshid Awan, Raja Toheed, Sheikh Saleem and President Trade Association of Rawalpindi Cantt Sheikh Hafeez, Member Executive Committee and former president were also present on the occasion.
Dr Shimail Daud said there was consensus of the business community that district administration was responsible for the said tragic incident and business community demanded of the government to conduct free and fair inquiry of the said happening and take strict action against the persons involved. He said RCCI played its due role to provide justice to the traders and no stone would be left unturned in that regard. He urged the masses to keep themselves cool and calm and try to recognise the real enemy of this motherland.-PR
