Expressing concern over distribution of pamphlets, provoking ethnicity and sectarian disharmony, Shia leaders have demanded the government to take quick and strict action against those who were allegedly involved for instigating rift among two religious sects, Shia and Sunni.
Speaking at a news conference held at the press club on Thursday, a member of Supreme Council Imamia Rabta Council Peshawar, Maulana Syed Mohammad Jawad Hadi said pamphlets were being distributed in various mosques and religious seminaries by a banned outfit to provoke masses for the protest rallies and demonstrations against the Rawalpindi incident on Friday (today).
Accompanied by Imamia Rabta Committee Chief Executive, Major Syed Hasnain (Retd), and other shia leaders, he said, "we are peaceful and against any step for instigating rift among Shia and Sunni sects and asked the administration to take prompt action against those people who involved in such anti-religious and anti-state activities forthwith."
