Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday directed head of Baghdadi police station to recover and produce a missing man in it, who was allegedly detained by paramilitary forces. A division bench of SHC, headed by Justice Ghulam Sarwar Korai, also issued notice to home secretary, provincial police chief and director general Rangers, directing them to submit comments on a petition against detention.
The petitioner Hameeda submitted in the court that on November 16, 2013, a team of police along with Rangers personnel raided her house and took away her son Rashid. She said the detainee was not involved in criminal cases, but Rangers detained him unlawfully at Lyari Sports Ground, which a base camp of Pakistan Rangers.
