Development plan and Vision 2025: MCCI hails government for taking stakeholders on board
The Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) on Sunday hailed the government for organising a seminar on 'five-year Development Plan' and 'Vision 2025-Stakeholders Conference'. The chamber suggested that due representation should be given to Southern Punjab which was playing a key role in the country's GDP.
MCCI President Khawaja Muhammad Usman, in a statement, appreciated the government for taking the stakeholders on board while formulating a five-year development plan and Vision 2025.
He said such an initiative would restore the confidence of local as well as international business community and promote economic activities to strengthen the national economy.
Usman said that for the first time in the country's history, the government had given due representation to the private sector in policy making, which was a positive move.
He said the government had given 60 percent representation to the private sector in a high-powered advisory committee of the Planning Commission.
He said that the conference, which was attended by over 1,000 professionals and experts from public and private sectors, would help address economic challenges the country was facing.
