The Punjab Provincial Co-operative Bank Ltd (PPCBL) has decided to disburse agriculture loans amounting to Rs 2.5 billion through co-operative societies for sowing, growing and maturing Rabi crops 2013-14 including wheat, grams, oil seeds, vegetables, fodder for livestock and orchards.
Registrar Co-operatives Abdullah Shahid presided over a high level meeting which was attended by President/CEO Syed Talat Mahmood and other senior officers of PPCBL. The meeting also reviewed disbursement of loans for Rabi crops, recovery of loans advanced for the Kharif crops 2013-14 and recovery of dead and non-performing loans. The meeting decided to complete recovery of Rs 897 million non-performing loans by December 31. The bank has already recovered Rs 293 million such loans. Registrar Co-operatives directed the management and field staff of PPCBL to achieve the targets set for advancement of agri loans, recovery of Kharif crops and dead loans.
