The TUV Austria Bureau of Inspection and Certification has awarded the Naurus (Pvt) Ltd, a leading beverage manufacturer and food processing company of Pakistan, with ISO 22000: 2005 Food Safety Management System Certification.
A ceremony in this regard was held at the South Asian Head Office of TUV Austria Bureau of Inspection and Certification in Lahore, where Dr Reinhard Preiss, Director International Business Development from TUV Austria and Rashid Mehr, Chief Executive Officer TUV Austria, presented the certificate to Executive Director Naurus (Pvt) Ltd Tajammul Hussain Chishti.
ISO 22000 is the most demanded standard to ensure safe food safety and provides a framework for international food safety requirements and is considered as an important mile stone for food manufacturers and food processing companies to achieve. ISO 22000 creates convenience for organisations to implement the Codex HACCP system for food hygiene in a co-ordinated way, which covers the food safety requirement of all the countries and their respective food products requirement.
A food safety management system that conforms to ISO 22000 standard is certifiable. This is the viable solution to the increasing demands for certification in the food sector. The standard is flexible enough to be implemented only for the benefits it bestows without certification of conformity. TUV AUSTRIA is amongst the few certification bodies accredited to provide certification to ISO 22000.
TUV Austria has recently acquired Moody International (Pvt) Ltd Pakistan to register the presence of TUV Austria Bureau of Inspection & Certification (Pvt) Ltd in this important region.
