The Investor relations function at UBL is responsible for enabling effective two-way communication between the Bank and the investment community. The objective of this function is to disseminate factual information that targets fair valuation and builds the right perception of the Bank's earnings potential. We believe it is necessary to develop an understanding of the Bank among key groups that influence perceptions, including analysts, portfolio managers, research directors, and heads of institutional investment departments. It is important to communicate our outlook and our guidance / expectations for a longer-term time horizon, and to ensure that investors' outlook match our expectations.
One of the key components of investor relations is an earnings call which is scheduled after each release of the Bank's results. We strongly endeavour to have the call widely attended by relevant stakeholders. The earnings call is preceded by the release of a detailed presentation on the financial performance of the Bank for the current quarter. The earnings call is led by the Chief Financial Officer and is attended by members of the senior leadership team of UBL both in Pakistan and overseas. The call includes a detailed question and answer session where we provide the audience an opportunity to interact with the management and obtain insight on the different facets of our operations, products and specific business segments. We have found this to be extremely valuable in building long term relationships with market participants amidst an air of confidence and trust. The recording of our quarterly earnings call is also available on our web site to further facilitate our investors.
Our outreach program includes attending investor meetings on a regular basis as part of International Road Shows at major business hubs across the world. This includes one on one meetings with foreign investors, credit rating agencies and research analysts. This interaction is necessary for investors to express their concerns and opinions and gain market understanding on the potential of the financial sector in Pakistan and the benefits of international diversification within the earnings profile of UBL.
Our website provides essential information, such as stock prices, latest financial results, brief biographies of our Board of Directors and a company profile. We encourage investors to contact our investor relations department where they have queries about the Bank, our industry, or the business environment in which we operate.
It is an honour for UBL to have been awarded the "Best Investor Relations Award for 2012" by the CFA Society of Pakistan at their Annual Excellence Awards Ceremony held in October this year. It is indeed a matter of pride that we are the first financial institution to have won this award since its inception. We would like to acknowledge the ongoing contribution of the CFA Society in Pakistan in promoting the value of the CFA Program within the country and strengthening the integrity, reputation and advancement of professionalism within the financial community.
