The Accountability Court (AC) on Thursday awarded a seven-year sentence and a Rs 70 million penalty to former Director General Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Imran Ahmed Zubair in corruption reference. The court issued its verdict in PTA corruption reference during which ex-DG PTA was found guilty of causing loss of Rs 80.17 million to the national exchequer.
Bank manager Muhammad Riaz was acquitted in the same case. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had filed the corruption reference in 2010.
