Shadab Khan will ‘try’ to perform like Yasir Shah
Pakistan team leg-spinner Shadab Khan said it is quite difficult to fill the shoes of Yasir Shah, but he will try to make most of it.
Speaking to the media after the conclusion of third day, Shadab said that the conditions here in Nottingham are quite tough for spinner. “It is early winter here, however, today [Sunday] the weather was a bit hot that was supporting spin bowling,” Shadab said.
Referring to Yasir Shah, the 19-year-old said, “It was a big loss for Pakistan. He was performing so well. Now it a big responsibility on me as I get the opportunity. I will try to make most of it.”
Yasir Shah has been ruled out for 10 weeks, as he picked up a stress fracture of his hip and will have to undergo extensive rehabilitation.
It is pertinent to mention here that, Shadab picked up six wickets in the first innings against Northamptonshire, as they were bowled out on 259. Pakistan in reply made 428 with Asad Shafiq scoring an unbeaten 186.
