PESHAWAR: The Advisor to Prime Minister and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa PMLN president Amir Muqam Monday expressed solidarity with victim families of coalmine collapsed in Marwar area of Balochistan's Quetta district on Saturday.
He expressed grief and sorrow and prayed eternal peace for the departed souls and courage for the bereaved families. On the occasion he handed over Rs 50,000 assistance to bereaved families from his own pocket and announced that Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal would also given Rs 50,000 to the victim families.
At least 16 miners were killed and six injured after a coalmine collapsed in Marwar area of Balochistan's Quetta district on Saturday.
Most of the labourers involved in the incident belonged to the same village in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Shangla district.
The Advisor deplored that the previous provincial governments didn’t utilize labour welfare funds for the welfare of poor but if PMLN come to power after next general elections it would restore the funds.
He said due to the tragic incident PMLN leader Nawaz Sharif and Mariam Nawaz had canceled public meeting in Shangla scheduled for May 9.
