Punjab Literacy Movement Project: Rs 50 million allocated in current financial year
Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister, Rai Haider Ali Khan stated that Punjab government has allocated Rs 50 million in the current financial year to the Punjab Literacy Movement Project to enhance the literacy rate till 100 percent. He said this during a briefing in which Secretary of Punjab Literacy & Non-Formal Basic Education Department, Dr Pervez Ahmed Khan and other concerned officers were present.
Special Assistant to CM mentioned that the neglected and the poor people of society from 16 to 35 years of age would be imparted education in 6,750 Adult Literacy Centres in all over the Punjab. This scheme will also enhance the living standard of the poor. During the meeting Secretary Literacy & NFBE department gave a detailed briefing to Special Assistant to CM Rai Haider regarding the Adults Literacy Centres and other plans.
