The Karachi Port handled 102,684 tonnes of cargo comprising 73,400 tonnes of import cargo and 29,284 tonnes of export cargo including 4,781 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 73,400 tonnes comprised of 24,123 tonnes of containerised cargo; 6,896 tonnes of general cargo; 13,281 tonnes of bulk cargo: 9081 tonnes of canola; 4,200 tonnes of rock phosphate and 29,100 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 29,284 tonnes comprised of 24,484 tonnes of containerised cargo; 100 tonnes of general cargo and 4,700 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 4,781 containers comprising 2,091 containers import and 2,690 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 409 of 20's and 754 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 87 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 646 of 20's and 354 of 40's loaded containers while 184 of 20's and 576 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were six ships namely ER Kingston, Venetiko, MOL Dignity, Santa PE, Enterprise and Ocean Pecasus carrying containers, general cargo and oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were nine vessels viz OOCL New York, Santa Rosa, Ponemte, Kota Hapas, EL Gurdabia, Turquoise T, Pristine GV, BBC Ningaloo and Abu Al Abyad carrying containers, oil tankers, general cargo and rock phosphate respectively currently at the berths.
There were five ships namely Kota Hapas, Pristine GV, Turquoise T, Fulya D and BBC Ningaloo carrying containers, ethanol and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday. There were five vessels Hyundai Colombo, ACX Crystal, Intrepid Republic, Star-1 and Noble Star carrying containers, chemicals, naphtha and rice respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while four vessels viz Northern Prelude, PAC Aries, Kota Kaya and Sincerity Ace carrying containers and vehicles respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 49,489 tonnes comprising 33,067 tonnes of import cargo and 16,422 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 782 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 33,067 tonnes includes 24,691 tonnes of furnace oil and 8,376 tonnes of chemicals. The total export cargo includes 16,422 tonnes of containerised cargo. There was one ship namely MV Intrepid Republic with chemicals sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning.
A total number of three vessels viz CV Safmarine Ngami, Intrepid Republic and Arietis are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, chemicals and furnace oil respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as four ships namely Maersk Kingston, Hanjin Malta, Blue Sea and Al-Soor-II with containers, furnace oil and diesel oil are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim.
There were three vessel viz with containers, chemicals and furnace oil took berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Terminal respectively on Monday. There were two ships namely CV Maersk Kingston and CV Hanjin Malta with containers due to arrive on Tuesday at Port Qasim.
