The Federal Board of Revenue has decided to discontinue/de-notify performance allowance of tax officers who fail in submitting their declaration of assets by February 25, 2014. In this regard, the FBR has issued instructions to the field formations here on Wednesday on eligibility criteria for drawing performance allowance and its application/implementation.
According to the FBR, a number of officers have requested for extension in time for filing of declaration of assets. The competent authority has therefore extended the date for filing of declaration of assets to February 25, 2014. This may however be treated as last and final opportunity as no further extension shall be allowed.
It is intimated that the performance allowance of officers who fails in submitting their declaration of assets up to 30.06.2013 and earlier years will be discontinued/de-notified after February 25, 2014. Moreover, action will also be taken as per para 12 of Government Servants (Conduct Rules, 1964), read with Sl. No 23-A, Chapter 9 titled conduct, Efficiency & discipline of Esta Code 2010, the FBR added.
