Punjab Agriculture Department (PAD) has advised the growers of spring plantation of 'Moong' crop to complete their sowing during the first 15 days of March as these days considered most suitable for this crop. A spokesman of the department said here on Wednesday that Moong can be sown both in irrigated and rain fed areas with equal success and less pest attack is registered on spring crop of Moong as compared to Kharif.
The spokesman said that NIAB Moong-2006, NIAB Moong-2011 and AZRI Moong-2006 should be sown in irrigated areas while Chakwal-6 should be sown in Barani areas.
