A member of government committee for talks with the Taliban Rahimullah Yousufzai has said that there is deadlock in the dialogue but the process has not come to an end. In an interview with a private TV channel, Rahimullah Yousufzai said that the government committee has sought clarifications from the Taliban about the Mohmand Agency incident in which 23 security personnel were killed as well as about cease-fire.
He said if the Taliban did not give response, then perhaps the dialogue would come to an end. He said no decision has yet been taken about military operation and the dialogue committee was in tact. He said there had been no informal meeting with the Taliban committee but hinted that such a meeting could take place to move towards formal dialogue.
Rahimullah said if all the militant groups accept the decision of Taliban, as claimed by Taliban Shura, then the decisions of the Shura should be practically implemented. He said they want the Taliban Shura to take a unanimous decision on the clarifications sought and convey it to the government committee.
