Trenched have been dug around the two sensitive police stations of the metropolis due to possibility and threats of terror attacks. On the directives security authorities, trenches have been dug in Sohrab Goth and Surjani Town police stations in first phase of security measures of the police stations while in second phase more trenches will be dug around other police stations of the city.
On the other, Police Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) foiled terrorist bid by defusing 10 to 12kg powerful bomb found in Sindh Industrial Trading Estate SITE area of the metropolis near Naurus roundabout. Police informed on Rescue 15 that mysterious box of oil has placed outside a factory in (SITE). The BDS teams reached the spot immediately and defused the bomb.
The police said ball bearings, nails, detonators and nut bolts were used in the bomb, adding that terrorist wanted to target police and rangers, police said. The police said that massive destruction of lives and property could be happened if the blast occurred.
