Punjab Agriculture and Meat Company (PAMCO) decides to continue 'save the calf', feedlot fattening, Thal seedless citrus zone and Choolistan seedless grapes zones being implemented by the Company in the province to facilitate the dairy and citrus growers. The decision was taken at the 17th Board of Directors' meeting of the Company held at Lahore Meat Processing Complex here on Saturday to evaluate previous progress and to set new targets for the Company.
Board appraised the previous projects' progress of Pamco and determined to continue the projects including Save the Calf, Feedlot Fattening, Thal Seedless Citrus Zone, Choolistan Seedless Grapes Zone, Pothohar Olive Zone and Kitchen Gardening for Lahore.
Members approved the projects and referred to Executive Committee to finalise them. Board Members also appreciated PAMCO to reach 3,500 per day animal slaughtering figure at Slaughterhouse for municipal consumption and export more than 80 Ton to Saudi Arabia, UAE and other countries in last two months.
While discussing illegal slaughtering issue, Chief Minister's Special advisor for Livestock, MPA, Chaudhry Arshad Jutt informed the House that Cantt Slaughter is a big problem to eliminate illegal slaughtering as butchers used its stamp. Secretary Livestock, Dr Amir Ahmad told the House that Meat Shops registration is in process and Slaughtering Act is also in pipeline for approval, which, hopefully will be done soon and helping control of illegal slaughtering from the town, he added. Members also inspected slaughtering procedures at Lahore Meat Complex. Board Members participated in the meeting.
