Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX) witnessed continuation of bearish trend on Wednesday. Total value of trade went down by another 16 per cent to PKR3,353 million from PKR3,988 million recorded on Tuesday. Number of lots traded also went down to 15,369 from 17,928. PMEX Commodity Index closed at 3,261, down by 0.35 per cent.
Major business was contributed by gold amounting PKR1,950 million, followed by crude oil (PKR1,308 million) and silver (PKR94 million). While there was 80 per cent decline in the volume of silver to PKR94 million from PKR479 million, volume of crude oil was also down by 11 per cent to PKR1,308 million from PKR1,478 million.
