The Karachi Port handled 176,044 tonnes of cargo comprising 140,567 tonnes of import cargo and 35,477 tonnes of export cargo including 5,299 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 140,567 tonnes comprised of 44,371 tonnes of containerised cargo; 14,025 tonnes of coal and 82,171 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 35,477 tonnes comprised of 35,322 tonnes of containerised cargo and 155 tonnes of general cargo. As many as 5,299 containers comprising 2,904 containers import and 2,395 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday. The break-up of imported containers shows 1,269 of 20's and 803 of 40's loaded while 11 of 20's and 9 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 906 of 20's and 518 of 40's loaded containers while 67 of 20's and 193 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were four ships namely Kota Kasturi, Pona, SFL Yukon and Alexandors-III carrying containers, coal and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were six vessels viz PAC Aries, Hanjin San Francisco, Ever Result, Astola, Dimond Star and Al-Salam-II carrying containers, boat, coal and oil tanker respectively currently at the berths.
There were four ships namely PAC Aries, Ever Result, United Fortitude and Al-Mahboobah with containers, oil tankers and chemicals respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday, while another ship namely Violetta with containers is expected to sail on Friday. There were three vessels UASC Ajman, Violetta and Finisterre carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Thursday, while four vessels viz Santa Rosa, Sea Crystal, Sam Tiger and Bao Heng carrying containers, oil tanker, cement and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 46,191 tonnes comprising 16,058 tonnes of import cargo and 30,133 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,196 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 16,058 tonnes includes 5,999 tonnes of edible oil and 10,059 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 30,133 tonnes includes of 15,076 tonnes of cement and 15,057 tonnes of containerised cargo. There was one ships namely CV CMA CGM Bellini with containers sailed out to sea on Thursday morning.
A total number of four vessels viz CV Sealand Washington, CV CMA CGM Bellini, MV Notd Tradition, MV Ocean Furture and MT Bunga Angsana are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement and edible oil respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as two ships namely Hugo Sochulte and SFL Yukon with containers and cement are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim.
There were two vessels viz CMA CGM Bellini and Notd Tradition with containers and cement expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Wednesday. There is one ship namely CV Hugo Sochulte with containers due to arrive on Thursday at Port Qasim.
