As the Boom Boom and magical entertainer Shahid Afridi took Pakistan to victory in the nail biting contest against arch rival India with two successive sixes, thousands of jubilant youth took to roads and streets in Lahore to celebrate the much-needed victory over the arrogant India in Bangladesh.
Youth, who were glued to TV screens since the first ball of the 50 over ODI, burst into happiness and danced to the tune of drum beats with Pakistan flag in hand shouting Pakistan Zindbad, Hum Jeetay Gay. There were huge crowd on the Mall road, canal road, and other main arteries of the city that blocked the traffic. The jubilant youth roamed in the city on motorcycles, rickshaws and cars.
Irfan, a youth from Samanabad, said "By this victory over India we have already won the Asia Cup." There is nothing sweater than beating India in international matches be it Hockey or cricket, another youth Junaid said.
