Pakistan Sunni Tehrik chief Sarwat Ijaz Qadri has said that the TTP cease-fire was a ploy to gain time for strengthening the bunkers therefore the government should continue the army operation and the air-strikes in the tribal areas. Addressing a largely attended Istekam-e-Pakistan Sunni Conference at Muridke near Lahore Qadri said instead of holding any sort of negotiations, the government should actually speed up military operation to wipe out terrorists, he added.
Qadri said it is an irony that Maulana Samiul Haque is patronising Taliban calling them as his students, whereas they have killed more than 60,000 innocent Pakistanis.
He said supporters of TTP are also responsible for the bloodshed in Pakistan. The government should not force the majority follower of Ahle Sunnat school of thought to take up arms in self defence. He demanded that TTP should be banned and crushed in the country with full force.
He said due to wrong polices of the successive governments, Balochistan is burning and in some parts of the province, the extremists are not allowing people to hoist Pakistani flag.
He said the government must accept legitimate demands of the Baloch people and release the missing persons who were not involved in any crime whereas criminals should be sentenced by the courts.
Qadri said it is wrong to say that there is a Shia Sunni clash in the country, in fact there is a clash between the Deobandi and the Shia school of thought. The banned religious outfits were providing aid to Taliban who want to dismember the country, he alleged.
He argued that despite Rangers operation, the law and order situation had not improved and Bhatta mafia was carrying out its heinous crimes in Karachi. Addressing the conference PTI opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly Mahmoodur Rashid said that the government should keep all its option open to enforce writ of the State. It is the prime responsibility of any government to uphold the constitution and enforce the rule of law.
He stressed that the people should not be left at the mercy of terrorists and law breakers. The independence of the country and protection of life and property of the people could not be mortgaged, he added.
The PTI leader said that all the peace loving and law abiding political and religious parties and people would have to play their vital role to maintain peace and strengthen democratic values in the society.
The conference was also addressed chairman of International Tanzeem-e-Ahle Sunnit Pir Muhammad Afzal Qadri, provincial president Sunni Tehrik Muhammad Shadab Raza Naqshbandi, Muhammad Zahid Habib Qadri, Allama Muhammad Shair Muhammad and others.
They said that the whole nation stands by its valiant armed forces and ready to pay any sacrifice for the defence of the country. Anarchy is being spread in the country under a deep routed conspiracy and Karachi has been turned into a no-go area.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), a platform of about 30 Islamist parties of Barelvi school of thought, Sahabzada Hamid Raza has also warned that the cease-fire offer was a tactic by Taliban for regrouping themselves and the government should not be taken in by that.
He said the cease-fire showed weakness among the terrorists and advised the government to launch more decisive strikes against Taliban. Majlis Wahdat Muslemin (MWM) chief Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri said the cease-fire was a decoy and a tactic to regroup by Taliban which should not bring any change in military operation.
These parties urged the government not to stop the bombardment on Taliban strongholds in FATA, but intensify air-strikes to kill terrorists for avenging the martyrdoms of military personnel as limited cease-fire was no option.
