At least four persons were killed in different incidents of violence in the city, here on Tuesday. According to police and rescue sources, Mushtaq Ahmad, son of Abul Kalam, was shot and killed by unidentified motorcyclists in F. B. area Block-17 in the remits of Samanabad police station.
Police said that the deceased was member of Muttahida Qaumi Movement's Facts Finding Committee. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. However, no FIR was registered till filing of the story. In another incident, Ilyas, 50, son of Nokar Ali, was shot dead by unknown armed men in Sector 24, Korangi, in the limits of Korangi Industrial Area police station.
Police said initial investigation suggests the incident might be result of personnel enmity. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for postmortem. Unknown armed men killed one, Younus, son of Haji Umer, in Cheel Chowk, Lyari. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for autopsy.
A man, identified as Bilal, son of Habib-ul-Rehman, was killed at Kamela Stop in Lyari during a clash between two gangsters' groups. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for postmortem. Meanwhile, an Ahl-e Sunnat Wal Jammat (ASWJ) spokesman said that one of the man killed in an encounter with Rangers in Surjani Town on Monday, was its worker.
The body was brought to Edhi Morgue on Monday after the alleged encounter, which was identified on Tuesday as Syed Farman Shah,35, son of Mustafa. Umar Muavia, a spokesperson for ASWJ, claimed that the deceased was an active worker of ASWJ, who was picked up by Rangers personnel along with eight other workers from Patel Para area on January 29. However, the eights workers were released on February 1, but Farman Shah did not come back. He said that his body was found at Edhi Morgue on Tuesday. He claimed that his body had torture marks in different parts.
