A delegation headed by Nik (UK) Rubina (Education Specialist, Unicef) Ainee Nasir Jamy, (DATA) and Huma Mir (DATA) met Secretary Literacy and NFBE Department. The DATA group (Consultants) made a brief introduction of their organisation and its activities. Secretary Literacy and NFBE Department shared vision, mission and objectives of Literacy Department.
He stated that this department is imparting education to those who are deprived of the facilities of education.
Department has set up 7,000 NFBE Centres and 1,500 Adult Literacy Centres which are providing education to the millions of the learners free of cost.
Moreover, the children of labourers and down trodden are also being equipped with literacy. The delegation appreciated the achievements of Literacy Department and ensured a full fledge co-operation in future.
Additional Secretary Literacy, Nadeem Alam Butt, Project Director CFEL, Sajjad Saqib and other officers were also present in the meeting.
